Team Bath’s Toby Samuel Breaks into Top 200 After Consecutive Titles

Toby Samuel, the standout tennis player from Team Bath, has achieved a significant career milestone by breaking into the world’s top 200 ATP rankings. This leap follows his impressive victory at the ATP Challenger Tour event in Hersonissos, Greece, marking his third Challenger title.

Coached by Ian MacDonald and Tiernan Brady at the University of Bath, Samuel showcased exceptional form throughout the tournament. He dropped only one set over five matches and exhibited dominant performances in the final stages. In the semifinals, he overwhelmed local favorite Stefanos Sakellaridis with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 win. He then secured the championship by defeating Harry Wendelken decisively, 6-3, 6-0, to claim the trophy.

This triumph was Samuel’s second consecutive all-British final win, having edged out former Team Bath player Giles Hussey 6-3, 6-4 at the ITF M25 Vale do Lobo tournament in Portugal the previous weekend.
