Team Bath Tennis standout Toby Samuel has been granted a wildcard entry into the men’s singles main draw at Wimbledon 2026, promising him valuable Grand Slam experience and a substantial financial reward.
This marks Samuel’s second consecutive Grand Slam appearance, following his debut at the French Open last month. Under the guidance of coaches Ian MacDonald and Tiernan Brady, he has steadily climbed the ATP world rankings, reaching a career-high of No. 144 this week.
In preparation for Wimbledon, Samuel has been honing his skills on grass courts, advancing to the quarter-finals at the Lexus Ilkley Open and competing at the prestigious HSBC Championships held at Queen’s Club. His Round of 32 match against former Junior Wimbledon doubles partner Arthur Fery was notable as the first ATP 500 event for both players. Despite a challenging 6-0, 6-2 loss on Court 1, the match highlights Samuel’s rapid rise over the past year, having soared from No. 1,405 to his current ranking.
