Taxi Driver Seriously Injured in Crash Near Somerset-Dorset Border

A taxi driver remains in hospital with serious injuries after a collision near Crewkerne on the A356 in South Perrott, just over the Somerset border into Dorset. The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was rushed to hospital following the crash involving a red Mitsubishi and her taxi.

Authorities arrested a 65-year-old man from West Dorset on suspicion of driving offences connected to the incident. He has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue.

Dorset Police are appealing to the public for any information or witnesses relating to the crash, which occurred at 4:09 pm on Thursday, January 8. They are particularly interested in accounts of the vehicles’ behavior leading up to the collision.

Police Constable Jamie Randell urged motorists who were driving nearby at the time to review their dashcam footage in case it captures relevant details about the accident.
