A tragic incident unfolded on Friday, July 3, when a woman from Taunton lost her life in a collision on the A379 Torquay Road in Shaldon, Devon.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene around 1:30 pm after reports of a crash involving a silver motorcycle and a pedestrian. The accident caused the temporary closure of the road between The Holiday Park and Ness Drive, the junction leading to Shaldon Zoo.
Despite the swift response from paramedics and police, the female pedestrian, believed to be in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Unit expressed gratitude to the public for their understanding while the road remained closed for a thorough collision investigation.
