Taunton School proudly announces the success of its inaugural Giving Day, raising an impressive £415,000 through 418 generous donations. This achievement not only exceeded the initial target of £250,000 from 200 donors but also demonstrated strong community support.
The funds raised will be invested directly into three key student-focused projects: refurbishing the Gwyn Williams Music Room, building a new bridge to link the main campus with the sports facilities across Greenway Road, and expanding the Assisted Places programme to help more children access life-changing educational opportunities.
Jack Clark, Director of Development & Alumni Relations, reflected on the event’s vibrant atmosphere: “The energy was electric and the enthusiasm contagious as pupils and staff threw themselves into a variety of activities—from bridge building and face-painting to sonnet readings and marathon musical performances. It was wonderful to see the whole community come together.”

Over two days, students participated in a wide range of activities, including outdoor music performances, academic challenges, a Pre-Prep wake-up shake-up session, student sports competitions, a staff bake-off and sale, a rugby match pitting students against the Head, a performance by the Prep School BSL choir, and multiple staff musical presentations.
The Giving Day brought together the broader Taunton School family—parents, alumni, staff, students, Governors, and local supporters—all united in their commitment to the School’s future.
