Taunton School is proud to announce remarkable success in its International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) results, released on Sunday, July 6. This year, students achieved an impressive 96% pass rate, surpassing the global average and reaffirming the school’s commitment to academic excellence.

These students have also made significant contributions to school life. Lily, an accomplished musician, served as Head of House. Anya, awarded an IBDP scholarship, engaged in regular scholar sessions. Amelie led the Amnesty International Club and was also Head of House, while Rosie held the prestigious position of Head of School.

Assistant Head Global and IBDP Coordinator Adrian Roberts praised the cohort’s achievements: “Once again, our Year 13 IBDP students have excelled, demonstrating exceptional commitment, hard work, and dedication. Their strong average scores and impressive individual performances reflect the high standards we uphold at Taunton School. I am incredibly proud of all our students.”

This year’s cohort has received offers from leading universities across the UK, Europe, and the United States, highlighting Taunton School’s expanding international reach.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma, offered in 143 countries, challenges students to study six subjects alongside core elements such as Theory of Knowledge, an Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS). Scoring 36 points is roughly equivalent to achieving three A grades at A-level.

Taunton School was one of the first in the South West to offer the IBDP and remains among a select few schools in the region providing four distinct pathways to higher education within its Sixth Form.
