Park and Ride services operating from the Silk Mills site in Taunton will be temporarily rerouted to accommodate essential gas main renewal works by Wales and West Utilities. These upgrades are taking place in the Bishops Hull and Silk Mills areas, with Somerset Council supporting this critical infrastructure project.
Starting from July 28 and continuing through to August 16, the section of Mountway Road at the junction with Silk Mills Road will be closed. As a result, buses from the Silk Mills Park and Ride will no longer serve this stop during the closure. Instead, they will follow a revised route via Staplegrove Road and Tangier Way.
Because of scheduling constraints, buses will not make stops until reaching Musgrove Park Hospital. From there, they will continue on their usual path into the town centre and to the Gateway Park and Ride site. These changes will also affect journeys originating from both Silk Mills and Taunton Gateway.

Somerset Council encourages all travellers, especially those heading towards the town centre or Musgrove Park Hospital, to plan their journeys ahead of time and allow for additional travel time. The frequency of the Park and Ride service will be reduced during this period due to the rerouting.
