Somerset Wildlife Trust is calling on daredevils to join them for a heart-stopping fundraising abseil in Weston-super-Mare this April. The Abseil for Wildlife challenge will see participants descend a thrilling 130ft drop, all in support of protecting the county’s wildlife and habitats.
The event, set to take place on Saturday, April 19 at Uphill Quarry in North Somerset, is one of Somerset Wildlife Trust’s most exhilarating sponsored events. By securing sponsors, participants will be contributing vital funds towards the Trust’s goal of ensuring at least 30% of land and sea is managed positively for nature.
Kate Wilson, the community and events fundraising manager at Somerset Wildlife Trust, expressed the excitement around the event, highlighting the unique opportunity it provides to support local nature conservation efforts. With previous events having collectively raised £10,886 for the charity, this year’s challenge aims to build on the impactful contributions made by adrenaline-seeking supporters.
