Originally, Yeo Valley Farm and Holt Farms Ltd. sought permission in 2018 for up to 100 new homes, a 60-bed care home, business units, and a nursery. Although Sedgemoor District Council approved these plans in 2020, legal agreements were only finalized in May 2023. Subsequently, Homes England acquired the site and presented updated proposals that were approved by Somerset Council in November 2024.
