Among the finds at Gough’s Cave is Cheddar Man, a remarkably well-preserved complete human skeleton dating back 10,000 years. Buried alongside him, researchers discovered one of the earliest known domestic dogs in Britain. Dogs are believed to have diverged from their wolf ancestors during the last Ice Age.
