The incident occurred at 5:28 pm on Thursday, April 2, when Evans fled from a privately-operated prisoner transport van on Poole Road. Following detailed searches supported by a police helicopter, officers have been unable to locate him. Evans had been charged with assault and other offences. After appearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court that day, he was remanded in custody.
