Plans for the Studley Grange Motorsports Hub in Wiltshire have been significantly improved following strong public support, with enhancements including expanded parking, better access, and upgraded visitor amenities.
Swindon Motorsports is preparing to submit a planning application for the revised Studley Grange site in the coming weeks. Earlier this year, a public consultation revealed overwhelming support, with 84% of respondents endorsing the proposals and agreeing the location is ideal for motorsport development.
The consultation engaged residents from Wiltshire and Swindon, attracting over 180 people to a public exhibition. Many supporters highlighted the site’s potential as a new home for Swindon Speedway, strengthening community enthusiasm.

In response to feedback and additional technical assessments, Swindon Motorsports updated the plans. Key improvements include expanding the primary parking area by utilizing extra land, redesigning the karting track to serve as overflow parking during major events, and creating more temporary parking with reinforced grass surfaces. Coach access and onsite parking have also been enhanced to encourage sustainable travel for large crowds.
Visitor facilities will see significant upgrades: more food and beverage outlets will reduce queues and offer greater variety, covered seating terraces will provide shelter, and business units have been repositioned to protect the historic listed farmhouse.
Additionally, the layout of speedway pits and competitor parking has been reorganized to improve both access and operational efficiency.
Terry Russell, chairman of Swindon Motorsports and Swindon Speedway, expressed enthusiasm about the progress: “The public’s overwhelming support has been inspiring. We’ve carefully considered all feedback and made meaningful changes, including increased parking capacity and improved coach facilities, ensuring visitors enjoy a seamless experience with minimal impact on the surrounding area.”
He added, “We look forward to submitting our planning application to Wiltshire Council soon and encourage all speedway fans to support this exciting development. Swindon truly needs Studley Grange.”
