A devastating fire broke out in Glastonbury on the evening of Thursday, May 22, destroying one caravan and causing significant damage to another, as well as filling a garage with thick smoke. Firefighters responded promptly to the blaze on Manor House Road, which is suspected to have been deliberately set.
The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received the emergency call at 9:23 pm and dispatched two fire engines from the Glastonbury and Street stations. Fire crews employed two main water jets, a compressed air foam system, and thermal imaging cameras to combat the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further.
According to the fire service, one caravan was completely destroyed, and a second suffered approximately 50% damage. Additionally, the attached garage was heavily smoke logged, while two vehicles were also affected.

Avon and Somerset Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire, which they believe to be suspicious. A spokesperson confirmed that the fire damaged two caravans, a van, and smoke-filled the garage, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred near Bowyers Close around 9:30 pm. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information or video footage that could assist with their enquiries. Witnesses are urged to contact the police on 101, quoting reference number 5225143516.
