Suspected Drink Driver Arrested at Warminster Services with Child Inside Vehicle

A suspected drink driver was arrested at Warminster Services, located on Bath Road, late on Tuesday, July 21, after police discovered a child inside the vehicle. Wiltshire Police were called just before 10pm following reports that a man believed to be intoxicated was driving with a child present.

Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle containing a significant amount of alcohol. The driver, a man in his 30s from Frome, refused to provide a breath sample and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of failing to provide.

Further investigations led to additional arrests for driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, and three counts of assault. Police confirmed that an altercation had taken place inside Burger King prior to their arrival.

The child was safely returned home by officers. The man was taken into custody in Melksham for further questioning as inquiries are ongoing.

Wiltshire Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
