A suspected drink driver was arrested last night at Warminster Services on Bath Road, with a child inside the vehicle. Wiltshire Police responded shortly before 10pm on Tuesday, July 21, after reports of an intoxicated man driving with a child present.
Officers located the car and discovered a significant amount of alcohol inside. The 30-year-old man from Frome refused to undergo a breathalyser test and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a sample.
Further investigations led to additional charges including driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, and three counts of assault. Police also determined that an incident had taken place inside the nearby Burger King prior to their arrival at the scene.

The child was safely returned home by officers. The man is currently in custody at Melksham, where he is being questioned as inquiries continue.
