Sunday Bus Service Returns to Yeovil after More Than a Decade

Yeovil, Somerset, rejoices as it sees the reintroduction of a Sunday bus service after a gap of more than 10 years. The 376 bus route, connecting Yeovil with Bristol, was launched amid celebrations at Yeovil Bus Station on Sunday, April 6.

The revival of the Sunday service has been lauded as a significant achievement contributing to enhanced public transport accessibility in South Somerset. The reintroduction of the service is a part of a comprehensive initiative to overhaul bus routes across Somerset starting this month.

A long-standing effort by local organizations, including the Somerset Bus Partnership, has culminated in the realization of this milestone. Adam Dance, MP for Yeovil, expressed his elation about the return of the Sunday bus service and emphasized its far-reaching impact on the local community.

Cllr Richard Wilkins, Somerset Council’s lead member for transport and digital, expressed pride in fulfilling the long-standing ambition of reintroducing Sunday services and highlighted this as a step towards establishing a reliable and integrated public transport system in Somerset.

Linda Snelling from Somerset Bus Partnership hailed the reintroduction of the 376 Sunday service as a significant victory for the community. The revival of Sunday services, along with the provision of a six-day-a-week evening service, is expected to be the catalyst for further improvements, enabling better access to work, family, shopping, and leisure activities.
