Following the unexpected closure of the Street Post Office located at 85 High Street, Street, BA16 0DT, the community will soon have access to postal services once again. The branch, which was previously housed within the WHSmith store, is scheduled to open on Monday 9 June at 1pm under the management of an experienced Post Office couple.
The restored branch will operate from Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm, and on Saturdays from 9am – 1pm, providing a total of 49 hours of Post Office service per week. Customers can expect the same array of services that were available prior to the closure.
Antoinette Chitty, the Post Office Area Change Manager, expressed the significance of reinstating the service, stating, “We know how important a Post Office is to a community and we are delighted to soon be restoring service at the same location as before.”
