This family-run shop isn’t just celebrated for its ethically sourced produce; it stands out for its unwavering dedication to tradition, quality, and sustainability.

Founded with the goal of simplifying food shopping, Stowell Farm Shop offers a welcoming alternative to the maze of supermarket aisles. For discerning customers who care deeply about the provenance, production methods, and packaging of their food, the shop has already done the hard work.

“We’ve made it our mission to source as much as possible from within a ten-mile radius,” shares a spokesperson. “We’re passionate about keeping things local, seasonal, and environmentally low-impact.”

The shelves boast an array of organically grown vegetables and freshly laid eggs from free-range hens, ducks, bantams, and geese. Creamy dairy delights come from the historic Brinkworth Dairy Farm in Dauntsey Vale. Established in 1910, this dairy features a small herd of pedigree Friesian cows, producing milk bottled in glass and crafted into yoghurt, butter, kefir, and the acclaimed “Wiltshire Loaf” — a traditional hard cheese famously referenced in Jane Austen’s Emma.

The farm is also home to rare-breed Shorthorn cattle and native sheep breeds such as Cotswold and Lleyn, all grass-fed and grazing freely in the lush Wiltshire countryside.

Stowell Farm Shop’s commitment extends beyond livestock. Fresh vegetables arrive directly from local grower Chris Rich in Box, sometimes just hours after harvest. Seasonal favorites like broad beans, new potatoes, carrots, and tomatoes fill the produce crates as summer arrives.

Visitors will discover a tempting array of preserves crafted by the Delicious Dauntsey Company, many using fruits from historic manor gardens. Recent additions include gin-pickled cucumbers and traditional malt-pickled onions — perfect for summer picnics.

The shop is also a treasure trove of artisan delights: sourdough breads from The Loaf Shack in Colerne, homemade fudge and cakes from Meg’s Cottage in Bradford-on-Avon, and even indulgent ice cream.

Stowell Farm is home to beehives tended by Corsham Honey’s expert beekeepers. Their bees forage wildflower meadows and ancient hedgerows, producing what locals call the finest honey in the region. For culinary enthusiasts, Fussells Farm offers a gourmet range of flavoured rapeseed oils and mayonnaise — including truffle, garlic, and chilli varieties.

“Our focus is on transparency, flavour, and supporting local producers,” the team explains. “We want our customers to feel connected to their food and confident it’s been raised or grown with genuine care.”

Adding to the farm’s charm, visitors may spot friendly goats, a donkey, or even an alpaca roaming the grounds — reminders of the pastoral heritage this countryside haven celebrates.

Open to the public and conveniently located between Biddestone and Corsham, Stowell Farm Shop invites you to explore its authentic tastes and sustainable values. Come hungry and leave inspired.
