Southend United staged an extraordinary comeback to overturn Yeovil Town 3-2 in the National League, scoring three goals in the closing 24 minutes at Roots Hall.
The Glovers had looked comfortable after taking a 2-0 lead, courtesy of Archie Chambers' strike midway through the first half and a goal from captain Luke McCormick just after the hour mark. At that point, Yeovil were unbeaten in the league, riding a three-game winning streak.
However, Southend, inspired by substitute Promise Omochere, turned the game on its head. Darren Oldaker initiated the comeback with a stunning 20-yard free-kick into the top corner. Then, Leon Chambers-Parillon netted his third goal of the season following Omochere’s clever hold-up play with 11 minutes remaining.

Remarkably, Omochere, who had come off the bench only three minutes earlier on loan from Bristol Rovers, sealed the victory with a spectacular winner, outmuscling his marker and firing the ball into the roof of the net with five minutes to play.
Southend boss Kieron Dyer had brought some light-heartedness to the occasion by referencing Michael Jackson songs during his pre-match press conference to support a charitable cause. Ultimately, his side delivered a thrilling finale to claim all three points and hand Yeovil their first league defeat of the season.
