This Christmas season is set to be extra special for hundreds of lucky neighbours in Tiverton, who are about to share an extraordinary £18.3 million jackpot — the largest single prize ever awarded by the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Residents in the EX16 6 postcode sector are preparing to celebrate a phenomenal win that will bring festive cheer and financial joy. The prize, which spans areas around Tiverton’s town centre, Moorhayes, Cowleymoor, and People’s Park, marks a record-breaking moment for the community.
On Saturday, December 13, winners will gather at Tiverton’s historic 400-year-old Blundell’s School for the Postcode Millions prize event. Attendees will receive cheques valued at a minimum of £3,000, with the full winning postcode being unveiled at the celebration.

Joining the festivities will be People’s Postcode Lottery presenters Matt Johnson, Judie McCourt, and Danyl Johnson, alongside special guest Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, famous for his role on The Chase and a Tiverton native. Matt Johnson shared his excitement: “I’m thrilled to be heading to Devon to celebrate the largest Postcode Lottery prize ever won. It’s shaping up to be an unforgettable day for hundreds of neighbours.”
While the win brings joy to the EX16 6 sector, surrounding areas such as Wilcombe, Tidcombe, Broomhill, Ashley, and Braid Park are unfortunately not part of the winning postcode.
Beyond individual prizes, the People’s Postcode Lottery continues to make a significant impact by raising over £1.5 billion for thousands of charities. Among these beneficiaries is Young Lives vs Cancer, which has received more than £22 million to provide essential emotional, practical, financial, and clinical support to young cancer patients and their families.
Locally, Action East Devon—a beloved charity supporting mental health and wellbeing services for children, young people, and families—recently received a generous £50,000 donation thanks to players’ contributions.
This spectacular win not only promises a festive financial boost for Tiverton’s residents but also highlights the ongoing charitable contributions made possible by the Postcode Lottery community.
