South West Beach Rescue Mobilised After Woman’s Screams Trigger Emergency

Emergency responders were mobilised along a South West beach after a woman’s distressing screams prompted a large-scale search operation. The incident occurred shortly after 8pm on Monday, October 13, between Beer Head and Beer Beach.

The Beer Coastguard Rescue Team quickly responded to reports of cries for help heard in the area. A search and rescue operation was launched to locate the source of the screams. Upon arrival, rescuers found two women on the shoreline.

After speaking with the women, it was revealed that one had screamed after being accidentally struck on the head by a ball. Fortunately, there were no injuries or medical concerns, and no further assistance was required.

The Beer Coastguard Rescue Team explained, “While conducting a training exercise on a calm night near Beer Head, screams were heard between Beer Head and Beer Beach. The exercise was halted, and search teams were tasked with locating the source of the screams. Two females were found on the beach; one confirmed she had screamed after being hit on the head by a ball. With no other signs of distress, the search was called off.”
