Somerset’s Top Lifestyle Businesses Honored at Muddy Stilettos Awards 2025

The best lifestyle businesses in Somerset have been celebrated at the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2025, highlighting the region’s vibrant independent shops, eateries, hospitality venues, and more. The awards, decided by a public vote, attracted half a million votes nationwide and engaged 11 million people over eight weeks.

Somerset stood out with multiple winners across diverse categories, showcasing the county’s growing reputation for quality and innovation.

Burnworthy Retreat, near Taunton, claimed the Boutique Stay award for its charming log cabins and treehouses, edging out competitors including Bristol’s Artist Residence and The Ollerod in Beaminster.

Aurora Kusina, based in Shepton Mallet, won Casual Dining for its contemporary take on Filipino comfort food, surpassing finalists such as Glastonbury’s Fara and Midford’s Castle Farm.

The Packhorse, a beloved pub in South Stoke and acclaimed as TripAdvisor’s top pub in Bath, was named Destination Pub, beating local favorites like The Pelican in Chew Magna.

Waterside Country Barn in Bradford-on-Tone was recognized as the Best Event Venue among strong contenders such as Crowcombe Court and Orchardleigh Estate near Frome.

In the beauty category, Ben Russell Salon in Ilminster took home Best Hair Salon, standing out from competitors across the region, including Bristol and Dorchester.

No. 15 Bath by GuestHouse was awarded Best Hotel, showcasing Somerset’s exceptional hospitality against a field filled with renowned properties like The Gainsborough Bath Spa and The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa.

The Cherry Tree of Martock gained top honors as Best Local Food & Drink Producer for its exquisite preserves, triumphing over acclaimed producers such as Chococo in Swanage.

Alfredo’s in Somerton earned Best Restaurant for its authentic Italian cuisine, outpacing finalists like Queen of Cups in Glastonbury and Restaurant Roots in Southbourne.

In the style category, Deadly is the Female from Frome received the award for Women’s Style, known for their vintage 1940s and 1950s Hollywood-inspired fashion.

Muddy Stilettos expressed gratitude to voters and participants, emphasizing the awards’ role in celebrating the indie businesses that enrich local communities and lifestyles.
