Somerset’s Osip Named One of the UK’s Top Ten Restaurants

Osip, the acclaimed farm-to-table restaurant in Bruton, Somerset, has been recognized as one of the top ten restaurants in the UK in the 2025 National Restaurant Awards. Led by Michelin-starred chef Merlin Labron-Johnson, Osip secured an impressive eighth place among the nation’s 100 best dining establishments, highlighting its exceptional culinary innovation and dedication to local ingredients.

The announcement, made on June 9, reflects the discerning opinions of an esteemed academy composed of chefs, restaurateurs, and prominent food writers. This prestigious award underlines the growing significance of Britain’s annual gastronomic gatherings and firmly establishes Osip’s status as a culinary destination.

Since its opening in 2019 in the boutique hotel Number One Bruton, Osip has evolved and recently moved to a larger venue housed in a beautifully restored 18th-century pub located at 25 Kingsettle Hill, Hardway, Bruton. The restaurant’s commitment to evolving its menu daily draws inspiration directly from the Somerset landscape, embodying a truly authentic farm-to-table experience.

In addition to the National Restaurant Awards, Osip was honored as Restaurant of The Year at the Good Food Guide’s Good Food Awards earlier in 2025, further cementing its reputation for outstanding food and service.

The National Restaurant Awards top ten also features well-known names such as Ynyshir in Ceredigion and AngloThai in London, but it is Osip’s unique location and approach that have captured the attention of critics and diners alike. Somerset’s culinary scene has undoubtedly gained a shining star with Osip’s rise to prominence.
