The Swan, a cherished village pub nestled at the foot of the Quantock Hills in Kingston St Mary, Somerset, has announced a temporary closure. Following their final shift on the evening of Friday, May 16, the pub’s staff shared the news on social media, signaling a pause but not an end.
In their heartfelt message, the team expressed gratitude to the community and customers who have supported The Swan over the years. They wrote, “We regret to inform you that as of Friday 16/05/25 we have shut our doors for the very last time with us here. It has been a pleasure to have met such wonderful customers and colleagues at The Swan, but it is time to move on.”
While the pub is currently closed “until further notice,” the message ends on an optimistic note: “I’m sure you all will not have to wait too long to see The Swan open again.” The community now awaits the much-anticipated reopening of this historic village fixture.
