Residents of Bathford, a quiet village near Bath, Somerset, have been left frustrated and upset by a wave of abandoned parcels reportedly dumped by an Evri courier. Over the past week, villagers have found piles of undelivered parcels—sometimes up to ten at a time—strewn across pavements, hedges, and even private gardens.
The situation, described by locals as a “parcel-dumping saga,” has sparked widespread anger throughout the community. Tom Frost, a 28-year-old resident and sales manager, shared his disbelief: “In the last week, the Evri driver has been leaving piles of up to 10 parcels scattered all over the village—on pavements, thrown into hedges, and on random doorsteps. It’s shocking to see such disregard. Some people found eight parcels in their garden hedge. Nobody is attempting proper delivery, and everyone is very upset.”
Social media channels have also seen residents venting their frustrations and coordinating to collect their abandoned packages. One person wrote, “Evri at it again! Parcels dumped by our log bin—guess I’ll have to deliver them myself. What a nightmare.” Another commented on the disrespect shown towards parcel owners: “Throwing people’s property on the ground shows no respect for their hard-earned money or privacy.”

In response, Evri issued an apology and confirmed that the courier responsible, employed via a third-party provider, has been removed from delivering parcels in Bathford. An Evri spokesperson stated: “Most of our couriers receive excellent ratings from customers, averaging 4.6 stars this year. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused to the residents of Bathford by this small number of incidents. We remain committed to delivering every parcel with care and encourage anyone with concerns to contact our customer service team.”
Despite the company’s reassurance, Bathford residents remain vigilant, hoping the issue will be fully resolved and that packages will once again be delivered respectfully and reliably.
