After a year and a half-long wait, the much-loved crime drama The Crow Girl has returned to our screens, reigniting viewers’ fascination with its gripping story and atmospheric settings.
The series centres on Detective Chief Inspector Jeanette Kilburn and forensic psychologist Dr Sophia Craven, whose partnership uncovers a chilling murder mystery. Their investigation unearths deeply buried secrets and a dangerous killer lurking within their town.
While the city of Bristol serves as the main filming backdrop-showcasing landmarks such as Castle Park, Queen Square, and Welsh Back-the production also ventured further afield to capture stunning coastal scenes at a charming seaside village in Somerset.

Based on Erik Axl Sund’s bestselling Swedish novels, the drama relocates the narrative from Stockholm to the West Country, with the village of Brean providing the perfect coastal setting.
Production crews were drawn to Brean’s scenic appeal, filming key scenes on its expansive beach and along the rocky headland of Brean Down.
Somerset boasts several popular coastal destinations, including Weston-super-Mare, yet Brean stands out for its tranquil charm. This quiet village features caravan parks and an amusement park but is best known for its remarkable beach, which captivates visitors with its natural beauty.
Brean Beach stretches seven miles, ranking as one of the longest beaches in Europe. It offers ample space for dog walkers, sunbathers, paddlers, and holidaymakers alike. The striking Brean Down, a 97-metre-high limestone promontory, dominates the view from the sand and serves as a natural pier extending into the sea.
From the vantage point atop Brean Down, where filming took place, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline.
Tourists have praised the location: one Tripadvisor review described it as “the nicest beach I’ve ever been to in the UK,” noting its immaculate cleanliness and absence of rubbish. Another visitor shared, “I was totally blown away by the incredible views from the top of Brean Down and the rich history of the fort. The beach was busy and having an ice cream van there was a lovely touch. Truly worth a visit!”
Hikers often enjoy the 1.5-mile walk along this natural pier, relishing the spectacular scenery-a spot familiar to fans as a filming location spotted during production in late 2025.
The Crow Girl’s second series premiered on Paramount+ on 20 July 2026, following a three-month filming schedule that reportedly began in November 2025. Both seasons are now available to stream on Paramount+ and to rent on Amazon Prime, inviting fans to immerse themselves once again in the haunting mysteries set against the captivating backdrop of Somerset’s coastline.
