Somerset Trucker Marks £1 Million Win with Omaze Logo Tattoo

Andrew Williams, a 66-year-old trucker from Shepton Mallet, Somerset, celebrated a life-changing milestone in an unforgettable way: by tattooing the Omaze logo on his wrist after winning £1 million tax-free.

Just a week after retiring following 35 years behind the wheel, Andrew hit the jackpot in the Omaze Monthly Millionaire Draw. The prize has erased his financial worries and opened new opportunities for his future and, importantly, his family’s.

“I was genuinely anxious about my pension and how I’d manage rising costs,” Andrew shared. “Winning this has changed everything. My concerns just vanished overnight.”

Following the win, he visited a tattoo parlour to commemorate the event. “I collect tattoos that represent important moments, and this definitely qualifies,” he said. “Luckily, the Omaze logo is pretty cool; otherwise, I might have hidden it away!”

The day he found out he had become a millionaire was just an ordinary Friday, running errands and popping into Tesco until a surprise call turned his world upside down. He broke the news in person to his daughter and spent the evening reflecting before celebrating with family at a BBQ the next day.

Andrew, a proud father of three and grandfather of one (with another grandchild on the way), plans to use his win to ease the financial pressures on his loved ones. “My son is expecting his first child, so I want to help him get on the property ladder. My daughters are planning moves too, and I want to support them sensibly – part spend, part invest.”

Despite his newfound wealth, Andrew has no plans for lavish living. He’s content renting his two-bedroom flat and intends to invest most of the £1 million to secure his family’s future. “I don’t need loads of stuff or space. The peace of mind knowing we’re secure means everything.”

That said, he will treat himself to a couple of upgrades, including a nice watch and a second-hand Mercedes GLE for added comfort. Sports cars are off the table due to his knees, but a business-class trip to the Rugby World Cup in Australia is a definite possibility.

Andrew’s win caps nearly two years of entering the Omaze Monthly Millionaire Draw with no previous big wins—other than a broken burger-shaped radio won decades ago. “I’d have been happy winning £10, so £1 million is beyond anything I imagined.”

Matt Pohlson, CEO and founder of Omaze, expressed the company’s excitement: “Seeing Andrew go from retirement worries to millionaire in days is incredible. It’s wonderful to know he can now support his family and enjoy his retirement fully.”
