Somerset Supermarket Chain Offers Free Mince Pies to Customers with Festive Names

This Christmas, Southern Co-op, a beloved supermarket chain in Somerset, is spreading festive cheer by giving away free mince pies to customers with certain holiday-inspired names. On Tuesday, December 9, and Wednesday, December 17, anyone named Holly, Joy, Noelle, Noel, Carol, Eve, Buddy, Chris, Kris, Nicholas, Nick, or Ivy can collect a pack of six mince pies—while supplies last.

To add to the joy, Southern Co-op will donate £2 to local foodbanks for every box claimed, supporting those in need during the festive season. Simon Eastwood, Chief Operating Officer at Southern Co-op, emphasized the importance of giving back: “Supporting our community during the holidays is at the heart of what we do, and we hope many will enjoy their free mince pies while helping others.”

Customers simply need to present valid ID to claim their free treat. The specific names eligible may vary by date, with updates shared on Southern Co-op’s Facebook page.
