Somerset is gearing up for a stretch of warm and sunny weather this weekend and into next week. Following a recent period of mild conditions, the forecast indicates even more sunshine over the next seven days, with only a brief rain shower expected on Monday.
Temperatures are predicted to reach a high of 22°C this weekend, maintaining comfortable warmth throughout the week. From Sunday, May 18 through Wednesday, May 21, clear skies and bright sunshine are expected, with daytime highs ranging between 19°C and 20°C, according to the Met Office.
Although mornings may start cool with some cloud cover, these conditions should quickly clear, giving way to warm, sunny days and pleasant evenings. Coastal areas will enjoy gentle breezes accompanying the abundant sunshine.

Looking ahead, the Met Office’s long-range forecast suggests that while a few scattered showers might affect parts of the South West, most of Somerset will remain dry and warmer than average for this time of year.
Bank holiday enthusiasts should note that unsettled weather is expected later in the week as Atlantic weather fronts bring periods of rain and cooler temperatures.
As June approaches, cooler weather with intermittent rain showers and sunny intervals is anticipated. The Met Office notes that western areas will likely experience wetter conditions, while the east remains drier, with overall temperatures near the seasonal average but with potential for occasional warm spells.
Current weather models show no signs of heavy or prolonged rainfall in the immediate future, offering a great opportunity to enjoy Somerset’s upcoming sunny days.
