This summer, cinema lovers and families are invited to enjoy the magic of movies under the stars at The Ring O’Bells in Compton Martin. From July 10 to July 20, the beloved Somerset pub hosts the Butcombe Outdoor Cinema Tour, turning its garden into an open-air movie venue.
The ten-day event features a carefully curated lineup of classic films, musical hits, and family favorites. Guests will delight in screenings paired with award-winning Butcombe beers and a menu full of delicious food. Tickets cost £5 each and include a pint of Thatchers cider, Peroni Capri lager, or a soft drink. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets to stay cozy during the evening showings.
The festival kicks off on Thursday, July 10 with the iconic musical Grease, followed by the romantic dance drama Dirty Dancing on Friday. Saturday morning brings a special children’s event starting at 9:30 am with Paddington in Peru, alongside face painting, colouring competitions, goodie bags, and a children’s brunch menu. That evening, action fans can enjoy the thrilling James Bond film No Time To Die.

Sunday’s screening of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them keeps the magical theme alive. The following week features more fan favorites: Mamma Mia! on Thursday, Jurassic Park on Friday, and another fun-packed kids’ day on Saturday, July 19, with Shrek at 11 am. That Saturday night, superhero enthusiasts will be treated to Deadpool & Wolverine.
The festival concludes on Sunday, July 20 with a 5 pm showing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone — a perfect finale to a spellbinding series of outdoor cinema events.
