Somerset Postcode Areas Where House Prices Are Soaring — and the Cheapest Town to Buy

Yeovil stands out as the most affordable town to buy a home in Somerset, with properties in the BA21 postcode area selling for an average of £232,987 over the 12 months ending April. This makes it the cheapest postcode area in the county with at least 20 home sales during that period.

Following Yeovil, Bridgwater offers the next lowest average house price. Homes in the TA6 postcode area sold for around £243,700 each on average. Other affordable postcode areas include TA18 (Crewkerne) with an average sale price of £254,915, TA16 (Merriott) at £260,931, and BA20 (another Yeovil area) where properties averaged £262,116.

On the other end of the spectrum, Wedmore claims the highest average house prices in Somerset among areas with at least 20 sales, with BS28 properties selling for an impressive average of £609,180. Churchill in the BS25 postcode area also ranks as a premium location, where average prices reached £512,867 last year.
