For the second consecutive year, Clarks Village in Somerset has been recognised as the UK’s most dog-friendly shopping centre. This coveted title was awarded at the DogFriendly Awards 2025, following a nationwide public vote celebrating venues that go above and beyond for dogs and their owners.
The DogFriendly Awards honour venues and pet businesses that provide exceptional experiences for the UK’s 12.5 million dogs and their families. Clarks Village earned the highest ‘five-paws’ rating once again, securing the Dog-Friendly Shopping Centre Award during a ceremony hosted at the Kennel Club Head Office in London.
At Clarks Village, dogs enjoy a warm welcome with spacious outdoor areas, wide paved walkways, and beautifully landscaped gardens. More than 90 high street and designer stores—including Rituals, Radley, Levi’s, and Tog 24—open their doors to canine visitors. Water bowl stations supplied by Le Creuset keep furry friends refreshed, while many stores offer treats to pamper pups during shopping excursions.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in popular dining spots such as The Cornish Bakery, Caffè Nero, Costa Coffee, and Bill’s—where there’s even a dedicated dog menu. Outdoor dining areas at Wagamama, Pret A Manger, Prezzo, and Slim Chickens also accommodate four-legged customers.
The award was presented to Archie, a one-year-old golden miniature dachshund and Clarks Village’s official Canine Executive Officer (CEO). Archie won the role in a pet portrait competition during the outlet’s annual Pawsome Pooch weekend, a festive event loaded with dog-themed activities such as pet photo shoots, pampering sessions, trick demonstrations, agility challenges, live portrait art, and a pet pick-n-mix.
Chris Davis, Centre Director of Clarks Village, said: “Winning the UK’s most dog-friendly shopping centre award for a second year running is a fantastic honour. We are delighted that the public recognises the effort we put into making every visit enjoyable for all members of the family—especially our four-legged friends. We look forward to continuing to keep tails wagging.”
