Three men from Somerset have been formally charged following a series of burglaries and attempted burglaries in August and September. The offences occurred in Downend, Hanham, Longwell Green, Mangotsfield, and Staple Hill—areas on the outskirts of Bristol—and have been linked by Avon and Somerset Police.
The perpetrators forced entry into homes during the early hours, striking while the householders were asleep. The accused—27-year-old Declan David Byrne, 25-year-old Nathan Peter Gallichan, and 24-year-old Jordan Douglas Mills, all from Weston-super-Mare—appeared at Bristol Magistrates' Court on December 4.
They face charges including the burglary of a Downend home on September 2, where two BMW cars and their keys were stolen. Fortunately, police later recovered the vehicles. Additionally, the men have been charged with burgling a Longwell Green residence, stealing a gaming device, cash, a laptop, and golf clubs, as well as attempting to break into five other homes.

All three were released on conditional bail with strict curfews enforced by electronic tagging. Their next court hearing is scheduled for January 16, 2026, at Bristol Crown Court.
Neighbourhood Inspector Barnaby Mabbett emphasized the impact of these crimes, stating, “Having your home broken into is a horrible experience, and your neighbourhood team is determined to do all we can to support victims and target those responsible.”
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the connection of the seven offences and reassured the public that investigations remain ongoing to prevent further such incidents.
