Somerset McDonald’s Ranks Among England’s Best According to Google Reviews

A McDonald’s location in Somerset has emerged as one of the top-rated restaurants in England, according to new research analysing Google reviews across all McDonald’s outlets in the country. By comparing the proportion of five-star and one-star ratings, the study identified the nation’s favorite McDonald’s restaurants.

The Wincanton branch in Somerset secured the impressive position of second-best, boasting 50.55% five-star reviews and only 9.81% one-star reviews. This outlet, situated in Lawrence Hill, carries an overall Google rating of 4.1 stars.

Marc Porcar, CEO of Remove Background—the company behind the research—commented, “While high-rated McDonald’s restaurants are scattered throughout England, the south holds a slight advantage, with Norfolk’s Norwich standing out notably due to two locations in the top ten. Although McDonald’s menus are uniform nationwide, variations in customer satisfaction likely stem from factors such as cleanliness, service speed, and staff friendliness.”

Porcar adds, “If you live near or plan to visit any of these top-rated branches, it’s certainly worth stopping by to experience some of England’s favorite McDonald’s restaurants.”

Conversely, the Chingford branch in Greater London was identified as the lowest-rated McDonald’s, with a Google rating of just 2.8. Here, 36.49% of customers gave one-star reviews, while only 24.07% awarded five stars.

This research highlights the growing importance customers place on service quality and environment, even within globally standardized fast-food chains.
