Somerset Funeral Notices Honor Beloved Locals with Heartfelt Tributes

This week, SomersetLive and its affiliated print titles have published heartfelt funeral and death notices honoring 42 beloved members of the Somerset community. These tributes pay respect to cherished family members and friends, some of whom passed away peacefully, while others faced sudden losses.

Between June 14 and June 20, a total of 37 death notices were placed, commemorating individuals who lived in Somerset or had strong connections to the county. Additionally, four in memoriam messages and one acknowledgment were shared, providing comfort and remembrance to families and friends.

  • Karen of Shepton Mallet, who passed peacefully at home on June 7, 2025, surrounded by family. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her funeral service is scheduled at Mendip Crematorium on July 3.

  • Joyce Halford, who passed on June 3, aged 89, with a funeral service at St Michael’s Church, Hill, Berkeley, on July 7.

  • A much loved gentleman from Frome, who passed on June 8, aged 88, with a requiem mass at St Catharine’s Catholic Church on July 4.

  • Zoe of Somerton, who passed peacefully at 55, remembered by her sons and family, with a service at St Michael and All Angels' Church on June 26.

  • Others honored include residents from Castle Cary, Dundry, Bath, Wells, Cheddar, and many more, whose families have invited donations to various charities such as Dorothy House Hospice, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, and demential-related organizations.

Families and friends continue to find solace in these tributes, which celebrate the lives and legacies of Somerset’s dearly missed.
