Somerset Funeral Notices: Heartfelt Tributes to 24 Cherished Loved Ones

This week, heartfelt tributes have been paid to 24 cherished individuals from Somerset in the latest funeral and death notices. These messages honor much-loved family members and commemorate those whose lives were tragically cut short.

Between August 1 and August 8, a total of 23 death notices were published in SomersetLive’s sister print titles, recognizing residents and those connected to the city who have recently passed away. Additionally, one in memoriam message was shared to remember loved ones no longer with us.

Announcing passings in local news media is a valued tradition, and we are humbled by the trust placed in us to share these significant announcements. Every notice published in our newspapers and on our website also appears on funeral-notices.co.uk—the UK’s leading platform for death notices and memorials.

All notices remain permanently accessible online, providing families and friends with a lasting tribute. The site offers a safe space to share memories, add photographs, post tributes, and make charitable donations in memory of those who have passed.

Each week, we honor the lives of those remembered in our community by featuring their funeral notices and online tribute pages. Here are a selection of recent notices:

  • David, aged 81, passed at home on July 22. A devoted husband and father, he had a distinguished career with the Ministry of Defence, both in the UK and abroad. His funeral service will be at Haycombe Crematorium on August 15, with family donations welcomed for Dorothy House.

  • Margaret (Peggy), peacefully passed on July 23, aged 94. Beloved wife and mother, her funeral will be held at the Holy Ghost Church, Yeovil, with donations kindly directed to Yeovil Hospital Charity.

  • Colin, aged 79, passed peacefully on July 30. Fondly remembered by family and friends, his life celebration will take place at Weston super Mare Crematorium on August 20, with donations for Weston Hospice welcome.
