Nearly a year after being jailed, Somerset drug dealer Dawid Dankiewicz has had more than £120,000 in cash and assets seized by police. Dankiewicz, 34, was sentenced to 26 months in prison last November after pleading guilty to 13 counts related to the supply of class C drugs and one count of possessing a class A drug in Taunton.
Last month, under the Proceeds of Crime Act, a confiscation order was issued against Dankiewicz, allowing authorities to seize his cash and a car valued up to £120,285.79. Avon and Somerset Police emphasized this action ensures that he cannot financially benefit from his crimes after his release.
Taunton Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Daryl Screech commented, “Dankiewicz was imprisoned following a warrant executed last autumn targeting drug offenses. Our Financial Investigation Unit successfully demonstrated the significant profits he made from illegal activities. We are committed not only to imprisoning drug dealers but also to following through with confiscation orders to prevent them from benefitting financially once released.”
