Victoria Lee, a 37-year-old dairy farmer from Somerset, created a truly unforgettable wedding moment by riding her favourite Swiss cow, White Chocolate Button, into the church for her ceremony. The distinctive entrance took place on Saturday in the village of Mark and was something Victoria had dreamed of since childhood.
Victoria explained, “It was what I’d always dreamt of – it was truly incredible. People often ride horses at weddings, so I saw no difference in riding a cow. White Chocolate Button was brilliant; she took it all in her stride.”
Before making her entrance atop White Chocolate Button, Victoria was transported to the church by tractor. The cow, adorned with a specially made flower crown, accompanied the bride as she was joined by bridesmaids and family heading into Holy Cross Church.

The mother of four described the experience as “very memorable.” After exchanging vows, while the guests moved on to the nearby reception, Victoria and her new husband Mike returned to their farm to milk the cows, a testament to their dedication to farming life. “Our schedule was tight because we needed to be back at the farm,” Victoria said. “I had only an hour’s sleep before the wedding day and was up at 4:30am to start milking before the ceremony.”
White Chocolate Button has been part of farm celebrations before and is accustomed to attention and adornment. Victoria recounted, “She’s been shown since she was a newborn calf and is familiar with people and attention. However, I had never ridden her until recently. I tried riding another cow, Basil, but she wasn’t keen. White Chocolate Button is very docile; she follows me around fields and even comes into the house.”
Victoria revealed that cows hold a special place in her life, saying, “It wouldn’t have been my wedding without a cow there. Our cows are family and our life.” She also recalled childhood memories of riding her cow Sadie to nearby shops.
The unique approach to the wedding also included Victoria dressing up as an inflatable cow costume for her hen do. She reflected on the entire experience with joy, stating, “I have wanted to do this for years. When it finally happened, the inner child in me was ecstatic.”
Victoria acknowledged the challenges farmers face today and aimed to bring some happiness through her wedding story. She added, “Planning a wedding while running a farm is very challenging – it took us 10 years to get to this day, but it was worth it. My children are hoping this story even reaches Jeremy Clarkson.”
