Somerset County Cricket Club Secures Landmark Deal with Cooper Associates

Somerset County Cricket Club has announced the extension of its largest-ever commercial agreement in its 150-year history, reaffirming its partnership with Cooper Associates Group until the conclusion of the 2030 season. This renewed deal continues the fruitful collaboration between the West Country cricket club and the Taunton-based financial services firm, which began in 2016.

During this decade-long partnership, Somerset has thrived on the field, capturing notable titles such as the 2019 Royal London One Day Cup and the Vitality Blast trophies in 2023 and 2025. The strategic alliance has not only brought silverware but has also elevated the standing of the Cooper Associates County Ground as a leading sports venue.

Jamie Cox, the club’s chief executive, emphasized that the deal reflects a joint commitment to long-term development, excellence, and innovation. He noted, “Cooper Associates has been integral in supporting our ambitions on and off the pitch. Our partnership is founded on shared values, trust, and a deep connection to the community.”

The Cooper Associates County Ground has become a celebrated location for a variety of high-profile events over recent years. It has hosted three ICC Men’s World Cup matches, key international fixtures across both men’s and women’s cricket formats, including Tests and World Cup matches, as well as major entertainment events like a concert by global superstar Lionel Richie.

Megan Barton, marketing director at Cooper Associates Group, shared her pride in the sustained partnership. She stated, “Our organisations have grown together, celebrating achievements grounded in aligned values and a shared pursuit of excellence.” Cooper Associates is also proud to deepen its involvement through broader sponsorship of players such as Tom Banton, Jack Leach, and brothers Thomas and James Rew.

Barton added, “This relationship transcends typical sponsorship. It embodies our collective ambition, integrity, and belief in sport’s unique ability to unite communities. As we move forward, this shared foundation grows stronger.”
