Somerset Council is set to implement significant changes to its Garden Waste collection service, affecting approximately 53,000 subscribers. Due to a surge in subscriptions over the past five years, existing collection routes have reached their capacity, prompting the need to adjust collection schedules to maintain efficient and sustainable operations.
Not all subscribers will experience changes, but those affected will be notified directly via email or postal letter, depending on their preferred contact method registered with the service. These adjustments will take effect starting the week of 24 November 2025.
To help residents keep track of their revised collection days, the council will update online calendars available at www.somerset.gov.uk/collection-days from 24 November. Subscribers are encouraged to check these resources regularly to stay informed.
