Somerset Community Unites for Catchy Christmas Charity Song

Somerset has long been known for its strong sense of community, and recent times have highlighted the value of coming together to support one another, especially in times of need.

In a heartwarming gesture, Henry Vince, a dedicated youth worker and musician from South Petherton, along with his friends Dan Wright and Harry Caddy, members of the local band Ganderson, have written a Christmas song to raise funds for families in need.

Their song, “Festive Romance,” has garnered support from local businesses, who have joined forces to create a music video aimed at generating funds for the local food bank. The video features the participation of butchers, shop owners, and even funeral directors, all singing along to the group’s catchy festive song.

Henry Vince expressed, “We are aware of the current cost of living crisis, and as I have experience due to my job it has really opened my eyes to how tough this time of year can be for families. We have written this song to give back not just joy to those who listen but 40 per cent of iTunes proceeds from the song will go towards our local food bank to help supply warm Christmas meals to those less fortunate than you and me."

This uplifting display of community spirit showcases the solidarity and warmth that permeates the local community in Somerset.

“Festive Romance” is now available on iTunes and most streaming platforms, with 40 percent of the proceeds allocated to support the local food bank.
