Somerset Cidermaker Triumphs with Multiple Gold Medals

Harry’s Cider, a family-run cidermaker based in Somerset, is celebrating a remarkable achievement after winning three gold medals at two of the region’s most prestigious competitions.

At the Taste of the West Awards, Harry’s Cider secured two gold medals for its Sweet ‘No.8’ Traditional Cider and Medium ‘Corker’ Traditional Cider. Additionally, the cidery took home a gold medal at the renowned Somerset Cider Championships for its newly launched Premium Sparkling Perry.

Head cidermaker Toby Fry expressed his pride, stating, “These awards reflect the dedication and passion of our team. We aim to blend tradition with innovation, and it’s incredibly rewarding to have our efforts recognised in such respected competitions.”

Each award-winning drink is crafted from hand-pressed cider apples and Perry pears grown on the family farm. Using time-honoured fermentation techniques, Harry’s Cider produces beverages that highlight rich, complex flavours and aromas beloved by cider enthusiasts.

The Premium Sparkling Perry, launched earlier this year as a limited edition, is available exclusively at Harry’s new shop and taproom in Long Sutton. Opened in April, the taproom offers the full range of Harry’s ciders, local beers, wines, and gifts. Visitors can also enjoy coffee, cakes, and snacks while taking in scenic views of the orchard.

Following a busy summer featuring popular “Cider Saturdays” and Friday night pizza events, Harry’s Cider continues to bolster its reputation across Somerset and beyond with its award-winning products and community-focused events.
