Ivy’s Reserve, a family-owned cheese and butter brand with over 125 years of heritage in Somerset dairying, has achieved remarkable recognition on both national and international stages. Celebrated for its traditional craftsmanship, the brand recently secured multiple top honors that highlight its excellence.
The Great Taste Award, a globally respected accolade judged solely on flavor by the Guild of Fine Food, was awarded to Ivy’s Reserve Salted Farmhouse Butter. This prestigious seal of excellence reaffirms the brand’s commitment to quality and tradition.
Ivy’s Reserve also took home two gold medals at the 2025 International Cheese & Dairy Awards, the largest dairy competition worldwide. Their Vintage Cheddar won the title of ‘Best English Creamery Cheddar,’ while the Somerset Red received gold in the ‘Speciality Cheese, Hard Pressed, UK suppliers’ category.

Rich Clothier, third-generation cheesemaker and managing director of Ivy’s Reserve, expressed pride in these achievements, saying, “These awards reflect the passion and dedication of our entire team. Our mission remains to produce exceptional Somerset Cheddar and butter — all while caring for our environment and community.”
Ivy’s Reserve Vintage Cheddar, matured for 18 months following a secret family recipe, stands out as the world’s first carbon-neutral branded cheddar. The Somerset Red is distinguished by its vibrant color and authentic regional character. Meanwhile, the Salted Farmhouse Butter is slow-churned in a single churn, replicating the traditional hand-churn process, and salted with brine made from local Bruton spring water.
Produced in Somerset’s iconic cheddar-making region, Ivy’s Reserve sources milk from its own herds and Red Tractor-assured farms within a 50-mile radius, ensuring local quality and sustainability.
Ivy’s Reserve award-winning products are available at major UK supermarkets, including Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and Waitrose, as well as online.
