Somerset Businessman Joins Contestants in Channel 4’s The Inheritance to Win Elizabeth Hurley’s Fortune

Channel 4 has unveiled the full cast for its intriguing new game show, The Inheritance. Thirteen strangers will compete for a substantial fortune left by The Deceased, portrayed by Elizabeth Hurley, while Rob Rinder takes on the role of The Executor.

In this 12-episode series, contestants must work together to fulfill the final wishes of The Deceased. As they face various challenges to unlock funds from the will, they also strive to convince one another that they alone deserve the prize money.

Among the contestants is Matt, a Somerset businessman who is not driven by financial gain. He described his participation as a personal challenge, saying it “piqued” his interest and serves as a “test of himself” rather than a pursuit of fame or fortune.

Former police sergeant Catherine, 50, from Wales, believes her 22 years of law enforcement experience will give her a competitive edge. If she wins, she plans to take her entire family, including elderly parents, on a much-needed holiday.

Nineteen-year-old Jesse, a content creator from Southampton, is the youngest participant but determined not to back down. He intends to save his winnings, while also using some to treat family and friends to a holiday.

Cam, a 28-year-old scaffolder from Yorkshire, hopes his friendly nature will win over his competitors. Should he triumph, he plans to leave scaffolding behind, become a full-time travel content creator, and clear his debts.

Pat, 75, a chess teacher also from Yorkshire, is determined to outsmart her rivals in pursuit of the grand prize, which she wants to spend on a new car.

Emma, a 26-year-old paramedic from Exeter, is motivated primarily by the prize money. After years serving in the NHS, she believes her upbeat personality and “innocent look” will help her sway the other contestants.

Ferg, 68, a retired market trader from Kingston upon Thames, is in it for the experience rather than the win, as he’s not expecting to take home the jackpot.

Hafsah, 28, a marketing professional from Manchester, plans to share her winnings with charity, support her family, and treat herself to a Range Rover if she emerges victorious.

Scottish wedding planner Hannah, 27, is eager to step out of her comfort zone before her own wedding. Her plans include saving some of the prize, investing in her wedding, and relocating to a farm.

Entrepreneur James, 35, prides himself on teamwork but insists he’s not motivated by money. Still, if he wins, he plans to wisely invest the prize funds.

Development coach Mart, 37, from Newcastle, aims to save his winnings for his child but admits he won’t be entering the game with an elaborate strategy.

Tia, a 26-year-old health and wellness advisor from London, relies on her adaptability and straightforward approach to assert herself in the competition.

Finally, Zara, a 36-year-old professional gamer from London, claims she “manifested” her spot on the show and plans to invest her earnings and buy a property in Greece if successful.

The Inheritance premieres on Channel 4 on Sunday, August 31 at 9 pm, with episodes two and three following on Monday, September 1 at 9 pm, and Tuesday, September 2 at 9:30 pm, respectively.
