Somerset B&B Named Best in England at AA Awards

A charming bed and breakfast in Somerset has earned the prestigious title of the best in England at the 2025 AA B&B Awards. Now in its 29th year, these awards recognize outstanding establishments across the UK that excel in hospitality, attention to detail, and guest satisfaction.

The George Inn in Norton St Philip, part of Butcombe Pubs & Inns, took home the coveted ‘AA Inn of the Year, England’ award during an online ceremony on July 15, 2025. This historic Grade I-listed Tudor inn, dating back to 1397, is famed as one of England’s oldest inns. Guests enjoy comfortable rooms both onsite and at the nearby property, The Plaine.

Linda Johnson, General Manager of The George Inn, shared her excitement: “We’re absolutely over the moon to be named England’s AA Inn of the Year. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide guests with exceptional experiences — from delicious food and award-winning Butcombe beer to stunning rooms and warm hospitality. This award is a testament to their hard work.”
