Somerset Bank Holiday Recycling Collection Changes

Somerset Council has announced that there will be no rubbish or recycling collections on Bank Holiday Monday, 25 August. As a result, all collection days across the council area will be delayed by one day for that week.

For example, if your usual collection is on Monday, it will now take place on Tuesday; Tuesday collections will move to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday, and so forth. Those with Friday collections will have their bins collected on Saturday, 30 August.

Recycling Centres that normally open on Mondays will remain open as usual from 9am to 6pm on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Residents are encouraged to help curb the increased demand by creating extra space in their recycling bins—crushing and flattening items can make a big difference, allowing collection crews to transport more material per trip.

It is important to note that in Bath and North East Somerset, as well as North Somerset, collections on Bank Holiday Monday will continue as normal without any changes.
