Somerset Council has announced that no recycling or rubbish collections will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, 25 August. To accommodate this, all collections across Somerset will be delayed by one day.
This means that if your normal collection day is Monday, your bin will now be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday collections will shift to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday, and so forth. Residents with a usual Friday collection will have their bins collected on Saturday, 30 August.
Recycling centers that normally open on Mondays will operate as usual from 9 am to 6 pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

To help manage the expected increase in recycling volume, residents are encouraged to crush and flatten their recyclables. This simple step frees up space in recycling boxes and helps the collection crews reduce the number of trips needed to empty their vehicles.
Please note that in Bath and North East Somerset, as well as North Somerset, collections scheduled on Bank Holiday Monday will proceed as normal.
