Solar Panel Cables Spark Fire in Somerset Bungalow

A bungalow in Somerset was left devastated after a fire erupted on April 28th, caused by solar panel cables in the utility room. A call reporting smoke coming from the roof of the property in Minehead prompted the arrival of three crews from Minehead and Williton. The fire, which also involved domestic lithium batteries, required the assistance of an aerial ladder platform mobilized from Taunton.

The intense blaze, lasting nearly three hours, was eventually extinguished using breathing apparatus, carbon dioxide extinguishers, and a thermal imaging camera. The utility room sustained 75 percent severe damage, while the rest of the property suffered 25 percent smoke damage.
