Several cars in Bath suffered significant damage after being attacked with a sledgehammer on the evening of Saturday, January 3. Avon and Somerset Police responded to reports of vandalism occurring between 7pm and 11pm in the Bear Flat and Twerton neighborhoods.
A man in his 40s was arrested at the scenes on suspicion of criminal damage. Following his arrest, he has been released under investigation as police continue their inquiries.
Authorities have thoroughly reviewed CCTV footage and conducted house-to-house inquiries in an effort to gather more information. They are now urging anyone who witnessed the attacks or has footage of the incidents to come forward.

Police are also calling on vehicle owners whose cars were damaged during that time but have not yet contacted law enforcement to get in touch as soon as possible.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said, “Officers are appealing for witnesses following a series of sledgehammer attacks on vehicles in Bath earlier this month. We continue to investigate, and cooperation from the public is crucial.”
