Shoeless Prisoner with Handcuff Escapes from Transport Van in Poole

Dorset Police are actively searching for Jason Evans, a 32-year-old man who recently escaped from lawful custody in Poole and is currently at large.

The incident occurred at 5:28 pm on Thursday, April 2, when Evans fled from a privately-operated prisoner transport van on Poole Road. Following detailed searches supported by a police helicopter, officers have been unable to locate him.

Evans had been charged with assault and other offences. After appearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court that day, he was remanded in custody. While being transported to another facility, he managed to escape.

He is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium build, with ginger hair. At the time of his escape, he was wearing grey clothing, no shoes, and had a handcuff on one wrist.

Superintendent Ross Graham of Dorset Police stated, “We are conducting extensive searches and investigations to locate Jason Evans and bring him back into custody. We believe he may have changed his clothing to avoid detection. The public is urged to report anyone matching his description who appears suspicious but not to approach him directly.”
