Shepton Mallet School Appoints Two New Deputy Heads to Drive Pupils’ Progress

The Mendip School in Shepton Mallet is set to enhance its leadership team this autumn with the appointment of two new deputy headteachers, Sinead MacPhee and Alisa Creaser. Both seasoned educators, they will jointly oversee the development and delivery of the school’s curriculum, tailored to support a diverse range of pupils with complex needs.

Starting their roles in September 2025, MacPhee and Creaser bring complementary experience and expertise to the deputy head positions. MacPhee, who joined the school in 2019, has been instrumental in leading therapeutic provision and developing a life skills curriculum that supports the most vulnerable pupils. In her new role, she will concentrate on the holistic curriculum, expanding opportunities to prepare students for independent futures.

Creaser, a member of the school since 2017, initially served as maths lead and tutor before advancing to assistant headteacher. With her SENDCO qualification, she has broadened academic pathways and will now take the lead on the formal curriculum, focusing on helping pupils achieve academic success and progress toward further education.
